Ten minutes with our new Developer Pim

Indian Rice Table anyone? Here's what happened when we sat down with our new Developer, Pim

So, welcome Pim! How did you find your first day?

Really good and even productive!

Tell us a bit about your background…

I am originally from Holland where I studied International Marketing and later also IT Management. My first programming steps were made with a company that did customised corporate image software and we worked in Visual Basic. From there I moved to a IT company where I programmed and project managed and was outsourced to places like Heineken (yes after 4 o’clock the soft drinks machines also give out beer…).

I came to the UK in 2004 where I worked for Tickets.com in several roles and later Big Marketing where I worked on Digital Sky, their own automotive web based platform.

What do you know about KVA Digital so far?

I know that it is a welcoming, friendly, productive and fun place to work so far.

What is your role at KVA Digital?

I am a web developer.

What are you most looking forward to achieving?

Websites and solutions that the customers are happy to use.

Are they any areas in particular you are hoping to get involved with?

Eventually maybe some app development and of course… back ends.

Who would be your ideal client to work for?

One that knows what they want, give clear briefs from the start and don’t change their mind. A utopia I am afraid.

Now for the important questions…

Describe yourself in three words?

That is so difficult… I can be introvert to begin with, always want to learn new things, and judging by this answer I can’t count.

What is your favourite meal?

Indonesian Rice Table

Are you an Apple or an Android fan?

Definitely Android

What is your favourite song at the moment?

Iron Maiden – Strange World

What is the first thing you do when you wake up/start your day?

Hoping it is not time for the alarm yet!

What are your pet hates?

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Before forming an opinion, have a look from the other person’s perspective. There may well be a very good reason for their way of thinking.

What is the worst advice you have ever been given?

I try not to and instead see if I can make people make their own decisions instead.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Drive off to Milan one night to go clothes shopping, and jumping out of a plane for a tandem parachute jump.

Your life would be meaningless without…

My wife

What's your life motto?

Never thought about that one, probably enjoy it while it lasts.

If a genie gave you a wish what would you wish for?

Total financial freedom to do all the travelling we wanted to

Could you live without your mobile phone?
