Over the past 12 months, KVA has been able to raise an incredible amount for cancer charities, including Stand up to Cancer, Macmillan, Cancer Research UK and supporting those living with cancer in our local community.
A large part of the KVA culture and ethos is to give back, both internally by recognising individuals within the team, and also outwardly supporting the wider society, using our business platform to help make a real difference.
It has been tough to hear stories of those we’ve helped, especially when you know those involved, as well as seeing young families completing the Race for Life in memory of lost parents. We’re glad we can help make a small difference and had a lot of fun doing it! Here are our charity highlights from this year:
A huge community effort came together for local boy Dan Chang, who was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma when he was just 11 years old.
We pulled together some amazing prizes, including a signed England cricket shirt, free gym passes, and lots of prosecco! We held a bake sale whilst people signed up for the auction, selling lots of chocolately delights.
Following the auction, we raised an incredible total of:£1,002!
The KVA team Stood Up to the challenge, each bringing in a bake, judged by our Account Manager and resident Mary Berry, Emily!
Magic Mike won Star Baker, and even a Hollywood Handshake, with his cookies and cream Oreo cupcakes – YUM.
From team entry fees and cake tasting donations, we raised a fabulous:£166!
Completely lacking in training or running ability, we tackled a 5k Race for Life around the local Willen Lake. After a respectable hour and a half spent jogging, we were completely knackered!
Big shout out to our MD’s two children, Sienna and Bella who completed the whole race in one go, as well as Account Manager Josh for the best running gear (pink tutus are definitely in this year).
We had a huge amount of support from the local community, raising a total of: £1,220!
Last week we opened our office doors to our business neighbours to sell cakes and raise money for Macmillan. Again our Star Bakers rose to the challenge, baking a fab selection of treats!
We had a lot of fun meeting more people from the local community, and raised a total of:£178!
It’s amazing to be part of such a collaborative team helping raise money for Cancer research and support. This year, our grand total is...drum roll please...£2,516!
We’re excited to see what difference we can make next year, watch this space!
